It is our goal here at WhosGreenOnline.com (online magazine and directory) to educate our audience about what it means to be Green!
Q. What does it mean to be Green?
A. When somebody changes the routine in their daily lifestyle to better the environment!
Here a just a few basic examples:
- recycling: (newspaper, aluminum cans, glass bottles, any recyclable material),
- composting:(organic matter that has been decomposed and recycled as a fertilizer and soil amendment),
- eating organic foods: (Organic foods are foods that are produced using methods that do not involve modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers, do not contain genetically modified organisms, and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives.)
- driving less: (public transportation) or drive an Electric Vehicle (EV’s) eg; Tesla, Prius, Leaf, etc…………,
- walking/biking more:
- being less wasteful: on our water usage, taking shorter showers, switching your light bulbs at home to a lesser wattage, or L.E.D. lights.

Alternative Energy is without a doubt, the direction Earth must go in order to continue to thrive! Here are some definitions of Alternative Energy:
- (Solar): Earth absorbs the suns heat/radiation, turning the collected heat/radiation into useful energy we can use on Earth. Using a range of ever-evolving technologies. Solar energy technologies include solar heating, solar photovoltaics, solar thermal electricity and solar architecture, which can make considerable contributions to solving some of the most urgent problems the world now faces.
- (Wind Power): the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as using wind turbines to make electrical power, windmills for mechanical power, wind pumps for water pumping or drainage, or sails to propel ships.
- (HydroElectricity): electricity generated by hydropower; the production of electrical power through the use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water. It is the most widely used form of renewable energy, accounting for 16 percent of global electricity generation – 3,427 terawatt-hours of electricity production in 2010, and is expected to increase about 3.1% each year for the next 25 years.
- (Biomass): biological material from living, or recently living organisms, most often referring to plants or plant-derived materials. As a renewable energy source, biomass can either be used directly, or indirectly once or converted into another type of energy product such as biofuel. Biomass can be converted to energy in three ways:
1. Thermal Conversion
2. Chemical Conversion
3. Biochemical Conversion
- (BioFuel): fuel whose energy is derived from biological carbon fixation. Biofuels include fuels derived from biomass conversion, as well as solid biomass, liquid fuels and various biogases. Biofuels are gaining increased public and scientific attention, driven by factors such as oil price hikes and the need for increased energy security
- (Geothermal): thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth. Thermal energy is the energy that determines the temperature of matter. The Geothermal energy of the Earth’s crust originates from the original formation of the planet (20%) and from radioactive decay of minerals (80%). The geothermal gradient, which is the difference in temperature between the core of the planet and its surface, drives a continuous conduction of thermal energy in the form of heat from the core to the surface.

It is our opinion here at WhosGreenOnline.com (online magazine and directory) that we must start to practice safer, cleaner, less wasteful habits for ourselves and our children. Our population here on earth is increasing every year.
