Earth Will Be A “Ball of Fire in 600 Years”

Earth

***The recent wild fires in So. Ca., accompanied with the excessive heat tell me; A sign of things to come?

I came across this story on EcoWatch,  I read it, and I have to say; It has stuck with me now for days. Through hundreds of hours of research, combined with what little common sense I have, I have to agree with this prediction. Humans are born with greedy traits and intentions, like hunger, warmth, shelter, transportation and sexual desires. When a child is born, he is hungry, he wants to eat til he is no longer hungry. I believe a person has to learn how to share, the human race is born greedy, sharing is a learned behavior.

I am not a negative or pessimistic person, in fact I like to believe I’m the complete opposite, a very positive, optimistic person. However, I’m a realist and with 7.5 billion people living on Earth today, and with the population expected to reach 9.7 billion in 2050, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize, Earth is in DANGER! Let us take a look at all the factories and population in Asia and India producing clothing, chemical products, automobiles, tires, shoes, etc……items of luxury for the people in the world to indulge over and over again, emitting enormous, unhealthy and dangerous amounts of CO2, polluting the environment. With almost every adult in the world wanting a car for transportation, combined with families in the world wanting and having more than one child, Humans must learn how to share a common philosophy of moderation and respect for Mother Earth!

With the amount of population increasing year over year, and the over indulgence of greed, I cant help but reflect on the quote of Mahatma Gandhi, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need…..not every man’s greed.” I just cant help to think that we as a human race have surpassed the breaking point, too much damage has been done to Earth, and unfortunately it’s too late to reverse the damage. Perhaps, the fate of our planet is  inevitable, given the innate greediness of human beings, perhaps we missed the lecture on sharing, preserving and appreciating Mother Earth. I remember a “butter vs. margarine commercial” as a kid, “It’s not nice to Fool with Mother Nature.”

I would also like to point out and mention, the U.S. pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to put a cap on global temperature rise at 1.5 degrees Celsius. I guess you can say, “The President is in The Hot Seat!”
